The role Administration Assistant is responsible for the timely delivery of general administration assistance to the Post Separation Services (PSS) programs and practitioners. This position supports RACR’s Mediators and would be ideal for someone looking to start in the industry and gain on the job experience.

Your new role

  • Full Time (or Part Time), Ongoing
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Located at Deakin ACT
  • Annual salary $67,395.79 – $72,405.75 (+ CPI increment to be finalised for 23-24)

Under the general direction of the Director Operations – Canberra and South Coast the Administrative Assistant (PSS) is responsible for:  

  • General administrative tasks, word-processing, data entry, spread sheet maintenance, agenda preparation and minute taking, production of Section 60I certificates, filing, photocopying and drafting correspondence including client letters.
  • Providing administrative support to the Post Separation Services team, including coordinating functions, client registration and room preparation.
  • Undertaking client front desk/reception functions, including greeting clients and ensuring messages are promptly and accurately relayed to relevant staff.
  • Performing client intake functions and attending to general telephone enquiries, escalating calls to therapeutic engagement or referral services when required and entering and extracting statistical data into/from client information systems.

What you’ll need to succeed

  1. Demonstrated experience in using a range of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Office and Excel.
  2. Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultural communities and knowledge of issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and communities, and LGBTIQ communities.
  3. Strong written, telephone communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and interact sensitively with a diverse range of people.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
